Our Position and Posture
This statement of faith by Amarillo Children’s Home is intended as a guide. This statement of faith should never be used for coercion, but rather, to provide a clear understanding of the Biblical principles under which Amarillo Children’s Home operates. As seen in scripture, position is what we believe, and posture is how we treat others. This statement of faith describes the position of beliefs found in scripture as well as the posture of Amarillo Children’s Home – always seeking to fulfill our mission through the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.
Statement of Faith
We believe in the one eternal triune God— the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and His death on the cross atoned for the sins of all who believe in Him and His resurrection gives us victory over sin and death. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone. The Bible is the inspired true word of God and the final authority for all matters of faith and life. We believe every person should be treated with love, compassion, kindness, respect, and dignity following Christ’s example.

WE BELIEVE
Generational change happens through children. By restoring a child’s identity, we can make a positive difference, both in how that child engages the world and in their posterity.
WE RISK
Working with people is risky. We risk the rejection and pain with kids making choices that will hurt them. We risk struggling toward healing with those who will return to hurtful situations. We risk love. Every day.
WE FIGHT
We’re scrappy. We see each child’s value in Christ, and we call out who they can become as loudly as we can to counteract the lies that bombard them. We won’t give in.
WE EXPLORE
We are not satisfied with the status quo or the path of least resistance, however good it might seem at the time. We press on to be even more effective and we refuse to settle for good enough.
WE DO
Since 1924, we have not only recognized need, but we have stepped up to do something. While our kids, as well as our methods, have changed with the times, we remain those who do each and every day.
