Emily Wood

Interim Executive Director

Emily Wood is the current Board Chairman and has been involved at Amarillo Children’s Home as a donor, volunteer, and staff member. She and her husband, Casey, even met through a connection at Amarillo Children’s Home!  They have two daughters, Marienne and Noelle.  Emily grew up in Hereford and Canyon and graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Journalism.  Emily worked in the nonprofit sector for 16 years, including serving as a grant writer for New York City’s historic homeless shelter, The Bowery Mission; in Development Director positions for the Amarillo Symphony, Opportunity School, and the Amarillo Children’s Home; as a consultant; and as the Vice President of Community Investment at the Amarillo Area Foundation.  Since 2019 Emily has served as the Director of Women’s Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo.
