Milestones = Memories = RESTORED identities
What were the milestones in your childhood? Was it a birthday when someone made you feel special, or maybe the freedom of getting your driver’s license, or your first job to help pay for your first car? At Amarillo Children’s Home, we get to celebrate milestones each day with the 45 children who live on our campus. Milestones = Memories = RESTORED identities.
We want you to meet one of our kids, Wendy, and hear her story:
ON HER 13th BIRTHDAY
Her family married her off to a man twice her age
ONE MONTH AFTER HER 14th BIRTHDAY
Child Protective Services brought her to ACH – she was sweet, but solemn and fearful
ON HER 15 th BIRTHDAY
The entire campus celebrated her, starting with a rousing round of Happy Birthday at 12:01 a.m., continuing with song and merriment throughout the day, and culminating in a cake decorated in her favorite color with her name on it, which so astounded her, she kept asking, “How did you know?!”
She giggled, sang, danced, and played, a piece of her childhood RESTORED.
Our mission of restoring the identity of children so they will realize their great value and be a blessing to others plays out one day at a time…which leads to one year at a time…which leads to life change. We are in it for as long as it takes.
Thank you for making successful outcomes like Wendy’s possible!
Your help is needed. Our funding is down significantly this year so we are asking you to help us raise money before our fiscal year end on June 30. YOU make Wendy’s story possible by choosing to give. Your financial support allows us to not only feed, clothe, and care for our kids, it allows us to change their story, to RESTORE their identity with God’s help. We can’t do this great work without you. Will you join us right now?
Thanks for loving kids,
